Hey JJ, do you think Hayden will stick in the lineup when Anisimov and Hossa return?

Dunno, Hossa back tonight though and Hayden is in. I think Hayden sticks until he shows he shouldn't.

Quotes not working but yes. Hawks almost lost to the Avs at home in their last game so, yes. I love the mental state of Nucks fans these days, but anyone can beat anyone in the NHL on any given night.

mental state? We are just realistic. A loss would be a win in our books right now.

For me the question is is Hayden shows he doesn't deserve to stick on the first line, does he immediately get benched or does he get a few games in the bottom six which might be where he ends up. I can see him being a good weapon on the forecheck and laying the body into some opponent's D in the playoffs.

I just like to get some digs in at a former intense rival's fanbase. There's a Wing's poster that stops by lately that is borderline in a depression due to the state of his team this year....he throws digs at his own team unprovoked.

Honestly, I am thinking longer. The Canucks really have no top-flight prospects in the system. Mostly good solid prospects but nothing in the WOW category. Obviously I am not including Horvat in that mix.

Benning hasn't fully committed to tearing down as of yet. That is kind of a problem going forward. And this draft has no real studs to build around. Probably can get a good piece for the future and hope next season's misfortune can get the Nucks a top pick where there are "supposedly" more of franchise type players.

I think that is fair. We don't have a generational talent, but we have some decent prospects. I am hoping a high top 3 pick this draft, but could be wishful thinking. Until Sedins+Edler contract is up, we are handcuffed this year and next.

I'm surprised they didn't try to trade the Sedins to accelerate their rebuild. I know it takes two to tango but couldn't you see a team like the Islanders a year or two ago who had (and still does) a lot of talent on the roster and a lot of cap room.

It's sad how much the Sedins have declined. What will be even more side is when Benning re-signs them to big money extensions in the summer.

The Russian Olympic (B) team have arrived in PyeongChang, South Korea, where two friendly matches will take place against their hosts on the 18th and 19th of March.

Sibir Novosibirsk forward Maxim Shalunov, who had been selected to play, has been left behind in Russia because of a sustained injury.

You always wonder with Russia if something else is going on.
